Thus, this ideal type works with a parameter, a referential, a ruler to measure a certain reality. The ideal type is nothing more than a mental model that helps us understand how the profile of a typical modern behavior works, and how it is composed of certain characteristics to build a “tangible being”. In this environment driven by rationalism, Weber develops another concept: the ideal type. Rationalism is a manner of thinking which only attributes value to reason and logical thought - and contextualized it in sociology, making it more comprehensive: the way of thinking and acting in a certain group - such as a team of agile coaches - to interpret the world in which we live and operate - or the corporate environment where this team will act on a particular mission, for example. German sociologist Max Weber (1864–1920), considered one of the founders of the modern study of sociology, retrieved a philosophical concept called rationalism. But before entering the topic in question, I will make a brief conceptual preamble that explains the scientific basis that strongly supports this view. In view of the complexity and vast scope of the subject the book dealt with, I will address a specific chapter: “The cordial man”. The concepts proposed by him help us to understand the Brazilian people and, thus, answer some questions such as: What is Brazil? How does the Brazilian define himself?
